Dr. Heather Moyer, Psy.D.
Academic Tutoring + Coaching Program Manager
Overview: Heather is the Academic Tutoring and Coaching Program Manager at Club Xcite. As a child, Heather was fascinated by emotional, learning, and personality differences among her peers. She decided to become a psychologist when she was 12 years-old. Heather loves to help students grow academically and emotionally in order for each child to reach his/her full potential. In addition to her administrative role, Heather is a Specialist Coach and Mindful Adventures Case Manager at Club Xcite.
Education: Heather earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Millersville University in 2007 with a minor in Criminology. While attending Millersville University, Heather was a tutor, President of Psychology Club, and Secretary for the school’s chapter of Psi Chi (National Honors Society of Psychology). In 2011, she moved to San Diego for graduate school. Heather attended the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University where she earned her Master’s (2013) and Doctor of Psychology (2018) degrees in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Child/Family Psychology.
Experience: Heather’s career in mental health spans over a decade, overlapping into education and forensics. She has previous experience as a behavioral support staff, school counselor, tutor, teacher, and therapist. While living in Pennsylvania, Heather provided in-school and in-home services to children and families. Since living in San Diego, Heather has trained at The Vista Hill Foundation, Alpine Special Treatment Center, San Diego Family Justice Center, and Juvenile Forensic Services. After graduation, Heather was a Counselor at The Winston School and taught AP Psychology. Heather joined Club Xcite in 2019 as a Specialist Coach. She has also been the Case Manager for Mindful Adventures since 2021.
Hobbies & Skills: Heather loves being in the water, so she frequently swims and bodysurfs in the ocean. She also enjoys attending live music and stand-up comedy shows. At home, Heather enjoys cooking and playing video games.
